KrishakPathshala: Farmer Capacity Building( Under Samekit Birsa Gram Vikas Yojna)

Initiated farmer education programs in the Chatra region, focusing on modern, sustainable agricultural practices to boost crop yields and ensure food security.

Intervention: Conducted intensive 4-Day Training Programs specifically designed for farmers in deep rural areas.

Reach: Targeted high-need areas of Chatra District Impact: [750 Farmers] trained in climate-smart agriculture, organic composting, and multi- cropping techniques.

Outcome: Enabled marginalized farmers to transition from subsistence farming to market-linked vegetable cultivation, increasing seasonal income .

To address subsistence farming challenges in deep rural areas, Prakash Jan Sewa Sanstha (PJSS) established intensive training programs through Krishak Pathshalas in the Chatra region. Moving beyond traditional

single-crop methods, the initiative focuses on a comprehensive Integrated Farming approach to ensure

year-round food security and income resilience.

 Core Pillars of the Training Program

The curriculum was strategically designed around critical agricultural touchpoints to enable

marginalized farmers to transition into profitable, self-reliant ecosystems:

• Integrated Farming Systems: Farmers were trained to diversify their land use by combining crop cultivation with livestock and renewable energy, minimizing the risk of total crop failure.

• AdvancedIrrigation Management: Training focused on efficient water utilization techniques to maximize crop yields across seasons.
• Organic Bio-composite Fertilization: To reduce reliance on expensive chemical inputs,participants learned to create and use organic bio-composites, improving soil health naturally.
• Development of Nutritional Gardens: Special emphasis was placed on setting up homesteadgardens to ensure direct access to diverse, nutrient-rich vegetables for tribal
• Livestock Infrastructure (Pig Shed Management): Farmers received technical guidanceon proper livestock housing, including scientific pig shed maintenance to boost secondary income.

· Solar Power Plant Integration: Introducing green energy concepts, the program showcased how localized solar power can sustain agricultural operations and reduce carbon footprints.
