Despite the fact that India has a fast developing economy, sincere efforts needed to engender more employment opportunities for the majority of Indians, to enable them to participate in the benefits of growth and to contribute to that growth. The employment Programs for the poor and marginalized Population in Jharkhand has so far not yielded desired results and unemployment has hardly decreased among them. PJSS is working sincerely in this direction to reduce unemployment among poor and marginalized youth (male and female) through vocational training initiative. We set up a vocational training centre in Dhanbad district with the larger objective of developing employable Skills especially among the marginalized population in need based trades like computer operations (software and hardware), TV repairing and tailoring. In 2013-14, youth (male-40 and female-30) where truly benefited by our VT program. To ensure that the centre attract and benefit masses, we offered nominal fees supplemented by required employable skills facilitating mainstream employment with the essential infrastructure including a team of dedicated technically skilled trainers forming a part of our standard delivery models.
